“Thank you so much Healthy Kids Running Series Pinehurst. For 5 weeks my daughter has gotten to feel like a champion with every race she completed. Always so happy and proud to make it to the finish line. This sweet girl isn’t usually allowed to participate in mainstream sports as she is prone to meltdowns due to lack of communication skills as well as overstimulation to her sensory system and is usually asked to leave. Every week though at these races when she would have a meltdown no one would give us a hard time nor ask us to leave and as the weeks went on it got easier for my baby to make it through the sensory barriers. So from the bottom of our hearts we thank you for the stress free experience! But an even bigger heartfelt thank you for giving our champ the Healthy Kid Award! That meant so much to us! Our daughter kept repeating all night ” I did it I really did it I can’t believe I did it” thank you to everyone that cheered her on and gave her the strength to push through!” – Parent from Pinehurst, NC

“I just want to thank the Healthy Kids Running Series for the last 5 weeks. Not only for giving my son a place to go and try this new healthy experience but also for the experiences and things I have seen that have influenced me. In a world which sometimes seems so self centered I have seen these kids be anything but. The way that the children have cheered each other on, pulled for others and at times run along with them for support shows what it is all about. These kids weren’t worried about a time or a place but just that they “all” made it through. The respect that the kids have shown towards their parents have been incredible. Yesterday there was a moment with a boy out running and he happened to stop along the way to pick a flower. His parents were encouraging him to keep going and don’t worry about that but as the child was coming into the finish line he diverted his path to give the flower to his mother before he crossed the finish line. In the parents race, the children that ran with their parents, encouraging them along proves that this was more than just about running and being healthy but teaching our kids how to treat others, of all levels, and I believe that they have learned that. Thank you for this. What a great series. I can’t wait til spring to see how I will be impacted again, oh and also so my son can get healthy running again.” – Brian from Perry Hall, MD

“I cannot say enough good things about The Healthy Kids Running Series. The inclusion that it gave Andrew to do something with his peers, the accomplishment of finishing the race every time, and the smile on his face while he ran, amazes me. Due to his Autism and Connective tissue disorder, we never thought he would participate in organized sports. Thanks for giving him the chance to do “normal” things. Today they gave Andrew an award for his positive attitude…..awesome just doesn’t cover it!! If it is in your city, I highly suggest you participate in the Fall, we sure will be!” – Beth from Quakertown, PA

“Thank you so much for such a fun season. This was our first year and my son Tyler really enjoyed it so much. The parents are all so supportive of everyone and the kids feel so good finishing the race. I appreciate all the hard work and time you put into making this happen. I know it’s not easy, but hundreds of families have you to thank for helping us build positive athletic experiences for our children at such a pivotal age.” – Julia from Wilmington, DE

“This was such a great series!!! Looking forward to the fall!” – Amanda from Hershey, PA

“Dear Amy,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you and your team for a great season of the Healthy Kids Running Series.  Jacob and now Honor, love to be part of such a great program.

I also wanted to let you know how much it means that Jacob received the Healthy Kid award.  As you can see, Jacob is an outgoing and a bit off the wall character.  He is always enthusiastic and energetic.  Those traits often get him into trouble (he was recently kicked out of karate because he is too much of a distraction in class, etc….).  I understand the trouble it may cause, but love that this time he received an award for those same traits that tend to get him in trouble.  You see those traits are who he is.   He is a happy, energetic, enthusiastic, off the wall boy.  Jacob loves people.  Jacob stays positive despite the trouble he may get into, but thanks to you and your team at the Healthy Kids Running Series, Jacob received positive feedback about who he is and what he is about.  This has brought joy to Jacob.  This truly means a lot to Jacob and myself.  Thank you.

We look forward to seeing you all in the fall. Thank you for all your hard work.” – Stacey from Andover, MA
